Sites Wedding Guests May Want to Visit in Cancun
While your wedding may be the main attraction for your guests, many
guests might also enjoy some sightseeing while they are in Cancun.
Here is a list of some of the best attractions in the Cancun area.
Xcaret Park is about an hour south of Cancun, but it is
definitely worth seeing. You can visit the butterfly pavilion, take
a jungle path tour, view shows, swim with dolphins and see some
incredible scenery.
The Interactive Aquarium is right in the center of the hotel
zone. Children will especially enjoy the aquarium. Visitors are able
to hold many of the sea creatures and even feed sharks.
The Isla Mujeres is also a great place to visit. You can enjoy the
ocean, visit the turtle farm, see some smaller Mayan ruins and visit
Garrafon National park. In the park you can enjoy scuba diving and
snorkeling and enjoy the quieter beaches.
Chichen-Itza
This is a site of a Mayan city. It has been reconstructed very well
and is maintained so that the are pathways and walk ways for
strollers and wheelchairs. There are numerous structures from
temples to a ball court and you can learn a lot about Mayan culture.
Reserva Naturral Tres Rios
Here you can go kayaking or canoeing through the mangrove swamps.
You can also walk, horseback ride, or bike through jungle trails.
You can also go snorkeling here and see the coral reefs and tropical
fish. One attraction that you shouldn’t miss is the Sensorama. You
are blindfolded and led through the jungle to experience it with
only touch, smell and hearing.
Xal-Ha
If you want a beautiful place to see the sea life you can’t beat Xal-Ha.
This is a natural formation of lakes and grottos with an opening to
the sea. So it is like a giant natural aquarium of tropical
salt-water fish. There are places here to change and rent snorkeling
equipment.
Market 23 and 28
If you are looking for a great place to shop for souvenirs the
market is where you should go. Here you will find traditional
handcrafted items as well as vendors selling traditional Mexican
food.
