The Proper Dress for Your Florida Beach Chic Casual Wedding
Florida Weddings
When you are getting married on a sunny beach in Florida, you may choose not
to wear a traditional wedding gown. This is usually because beach weddings are
a bit more casual than formal affairs that occur in churches and hotel
ballrooms. You also don’t want to be wearing the traditional wedding gowns that
have lots of layers and material because you will get too warm. And you
definitely don’t want to be uncomfortable on your wedding day. But there are
still many options available for your beach wedding that is casual-chic. Having
a wedding on a beach is one of the most romantic ways to do it and you still
want to look fabulous!
The right dress for a beach wedding is still completely up to the bride. If
you want to go very formal, there is definitely a way to make that happen. But
beach weddings generally do have a more casual atmosphere and for this reason,
short dresses, Hawaiian prints, and sundresses are all very popular choices. A
bride also never needs to wear white if she doesn’t want to but white looks
particularly nice against the backdrop of the beach, especially in pictures.
Of course, it’s also important to keep the weather in mind when choosing the
perfect dress. The weather is going to play a major role in just about any
element of your dress. Because you will most likely be standing in the sun for
at least a couple of hours, you may want to make sure that your skin is
covered. This doesn’t mean that you must be draped from head to toe. This will
only in fact, make you hotter and more uncomfortable. But a light shawl or even
just a small silk cape draped around the shoulders can be very elegant and can
keep you from burning in the heat as well.
It’s not only the sun you want to keep in mind however. You also want to
think about other factors such as wind that could affect the way you look and
feel in your dress. You may not want to wear clothing that hangs off the arms
or really, anything that drapes. If the wind picks up, you will spend the
ceremony making adjustments instead of focusing on your special day. Also keep
wind in mind when deciding on whether or not to wear a veil. It may be a better
idea to clip rhinestones in your hair or wear a pretty hair band that is
encrusted with glittering jewelry instead of wearing a veil that will whip
around your head in high winds. If you’ve always dreamed of wearing a beautiful
veil on your wedding day, this is still possible at a beach wedding. Just make
sure that the ends are weighted to make the veil stay in place.
It’s important to remember that beach brides are usually thought of as
relaxed, flirty, playful, and sporty. Trying to incorporate at least one of
these traits in your wedding attire is important so you look the part on your
big day.
