Keeping Your Makeup in Place in the Florida Heat
Florida Weddings

One thing you will want to take into consideration when you are planning a Florida beach wedding is your makeup. Yes, you want it to look beautiful and be just the way you’ve always imagined but none of that is going to mean a thing if it’s running off your face. During a beach wedding, you will be in the sun for a couple of hours and this could have a very adverse effect on your makeup. There are a few tips that you can use for hot weather to make sure that your makeup stays put.

The first step in making sure that your makeup stays in place is to prepare your face for makeup. While you may think that any soap that has stripping agents will make all that oil disappear, making it easier for your makeup to take hold, the opposite of this is actually true. Any soap that contains stripping agents usually has a huge amount of foam. This is a good way to know how to avoid them. While you do need to start with a clean “canvass”, you generally want to make sure that you are using a soap that is a little gentler.

The next step to take is to apply a sunscreen that has a matting agent. This is not only for the sun protection that you will need being out in the sun that long but it will also absorb quite a bit of oil as the day wears on. On top of the sunscreen, apply foundation but make sure that it’s not liquid. The last thing you will need on your face is more moisture. Instead, use a nice light powder foundation.

Use a primer on your eyes if you can. Primer helps make any eye makeup stick around so you don’t need to worry about what kind of eye makeup you are wearing if you are using a primer. Primer will also help with the application of your eyeliner. If you don’t want to use a primer, you can still wear eye makeup but again, you have to make sure that it’s a powder. While you are working on your eyes, remember to check and then double-check that you are using waterproof mascara. This is not only because you might sweat a little while on the beach and want your mascara to stay in place but also because there is a good chance you will cry while getting married and the waterproof will help here too.

During the summer, and especially for a beach wedding, you want to make sure you keep your makeup light and natural. This is not the time to make sure that you use every product in your makeup bag. The more makeup you apply, the more you will have to worry about melting off. Also, every application that you put on, you need to worry about how it’s going to interact with the other layers you put on. Wearing just a light foundation and some very simple eye makeup with a flattering lip gloss or lipstick will give you the natural look and feel that is perfect for the beach!
