Get Creative With a Spring Theme for Your North Carolina Wedding
North Carolina Weddings
One of the best themes you can use for your wedding is a
spring-themed wedding. Because it’s a time of new beginnings and
romance, this provides the perfect opportunity to say your “I Dos”
and make the ultimate commitment to that special someone. A great
thing about using spring as the theme of your wedding is that it can
be incorporated into every single detail, which provides wonderful
continuity, and all of this can be done very easily. The main
components of a spring-themed wedding will be pretty pastels,
wildflowers, herbs, fresh fruit and of course, flowers.
The ceremony is a wonderful way to begin the spring theme. You can
use the spring theme by placing fresh flowers in the hair of your
bridesmaids, use wildflowers in your bouquets, and as well as in
your groom’s boutonniere. Some very popular wildflowers are tulips,
irises, lilacs and daffodils. Giving the flower girl a basket filled
with daisy petals or wildflowers will definitely add to the spring
theme.
For the reception, it’s an absolute must to begin the festivities
outdoor on a deck or balcony, if possible and the weather allows for
it. During the reception, passing around fresh fruit and serving the
same fresh fruit after the cake is cut and served is another
wonderful play on the spring theme. For something truly decadent and
romantic, serve chocolate-covered strawberries. Some couples choose
to have a small dessert table available when cake is served and
tarts and shortcake with fruit topping make very nice springtime
desserts.
Decorations are another easy and fun way to incorporate the theme
into a spring wedding. They are so easy in fact, that they can be
done yourself and not take a lot of time out of wedding planning.
The same types of fresh wildflowers that were used earlier in the
bouquets can now be placed in metal buckets or clear vases and
displayed throughout the reception area. Dried herbs, such as
rosemary, can be very pretty and can be tucked into the floral
displays for extra depth and filling. The centerpieces can also be
made yourself. Floating candles are very nice and keep with the
simplicity of spring but fresh flowers in a bowl are an especially
nice added touch to a spring wedding. If you’re on a tight budget
and don’t want to spend big bucks on petals in a bowl, choose
potpourri. It’s just as romantic and will smell very pretty!
Covering the tables with lacy linens is another elegant way to
decorate for a spring wedding. Sprinkle the top of the tablecloth
with flower petals and this instantly becomes a wonderful spring
table setting! Any other surfaces that you want to cover either use
lace tablecloths again or cover small areas with doilies.
Spring holds endless opportunities and when planning a spring
wedding, there are also endless opportunities here as well! The
clear, blue sky is the limit so don’t hold back when planning a
spring wedding. Chances are if it says new and fresh to you, it will
fit right in!
